Where to study PDF Print E-mail

holland_mapIf you want to study in The Netherlands you first have to apply for a course. But where to begin?

You have several options for studying in Holland. You can enrol in an English-taught degree programme or short course. Or, if you speak Dutch, enrol in a Dutch programme.

In the database of the Nuffic you can find over 1,560 international study programmes. From short training seminars to full-fledged bachelor's and master's degree programmes, they are taught entirely in English. You can browse through the database to find the programme or course you are looking for. Go to database.

Code of Conduct

All institutions that are listed in this database, have signed the Code of Conduct.

This Code sets out standards for Dutch higher education institutions in their dealings with international students. By signing the Code of Conduct, the institutions are offering international students a guarantee of the quality of their programmes, student recruitment, selection and counselling procedures.

OKE! So now I found a place to study, but where is it?

You may want to take a look at the map of Holland to see where the Dutch higher education institutions are located.

Remember, Holland is a small country so don't let distance keep you away from your favorite institute!

Higher Education admission policy

Keep in mind that universities and hogescholen have a strict admission policy. We strongly recommend that you first contact the admission office or the student counsellor of the institution in question.

The higher education institutions will determine:

• whether you can be admitted to the course with your foreign diploma

• whether your prior education has any deficiencies. If so, these have to be remedied before the start of the course

• whether you have to take one or several admission tests.

If you want to take up a higher education course, your application does not necessarily mean that you can actually start with the course. Again, get yourself informed by the admission officer of the institution of your choice.
